Results-Focused Leader

Believer in the potential of everyone.

My colleagues and friends call me Michele H-H, MH2, MHH, and Michele H2. I'm passionate about enabling success for organizations and their people by creating, building upon, or reshaping strategies, plans,  and teams in market-driven cultures. More importantly, though, I'm passionate about the customer or patient experience -- always looking to surprise and delight them in the fulfillment of brand promises. I'm relentless in my quest to find ways to improve  organizations and teams. I've worked across healthcare including specialty hospital products, medical devices, SaaS, applications and software, employer-sponsored direct care delivery, lab services,  health insurance, and financial services. If you have questions or want to discuss an opportunity to work together, call me. I'll answer to almost any version of my name, and I'll produce results.

My Experience

Managing Director, Connelly Partners Health
Connelly Partners
Boston, MA

I have full P&L responsibility for this specialty vertical within Connelly Partners, an independent, global advertising and marketing agency with offices in Boston, Dublin, and Vancouver. I grew the practice 147% in my first year by adapting the practice's focus from pharmaceuticals to more general healthcare clients, including a global medical device provider, a regional health center, a national health system, and a regional not-for-profit, among others. As Managing Director, I lead all prospecting, sales and business development, and RFP responses, along with overseeing all work on behalf of our clients.

Director, JPL Health,
JPL
Harrisburg, PA & New York, NY

After a short consulting stint, I was asked to take on a new role within the agency creating its first-ever industry vertical. JPL is an independent digital marketing agency with offices in New York, Philadelphia, and Central Pennsylvania. I was responsible for all strategy, account planning, and campaign success for healthcare clients including Quest Diagnostics, Geisinger Health System, Penn State Health, and others including direct care providers, health insurers, and medical device companies. I was given JPL’s innovation award, the Platypus, within months of my hire for creating new methods of engaging and motivating potential patients for a client using principles from the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change.

Acting Head of Marketing, Decode Health
Nashville, TN

I helped shape the messaging strategy and value proposition for this AI-powered, predictive analytics company. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the organization to expand its focus and change direction shortly after launching. I refocused the messaging to be relevant to multiple audiences and potential clients, while working on finding the right product/market fit and supporting business development.

Chief Strategist, Trouble Group
New York, NY

Trouble Group believes in the power of the big idea to create meaningful results for clients. We launched an innovative influencer marketing program using podcasting and content co-creation opportunities to generate leads for our services, converting nearly 50% of "cold" leads into podcasting relationships, leading to longer-term client relationships.

Regional VP & COO
Blood Bank of Delmarva
Wilmington, DE

I was the lead executive of the Blood Bank of Delmarva, a subsidiary of New York Blood Center, with full P&L responsibility for a $25 million not-for-profit providing blood and blood products to 19 member hospitals in four states. I oversaw all business operations and strategy, blood collections, infectious disease testing, hospital sales, production, and distribution with four physical locations, six mobile collections teams, and more than 30 community-based sites. My direct reports included all functional areas: Marketing, B2B Recruiting and Donor Engagement, Sales, HR, IT and Data Analytics, Finance, Quality, Purchasing, PMO, and Technical Services. I served as COO for 12 months before my position, and others at the same level in other subsidiaries, were eliminated due to organizational  consolidation following the finalization of our mergers with the parent organization.

Executive Vice President
Lingraphica, Inc.
Princeton, NJ

I redefined this small, slow-growing, privately held company’s strategic direction for long-term, sustainable growth. I was responsible for corporate strategy, sales, marketing, operations, and all processes from lead generation through product delivery for the maturing speech-generating device business, as well as product management and development of new businesses focused on delivering speech therapy via apps, web-based technologies, and telemedicine. I reorganized the entire company to focus on sales, marketing and customer experience to streamline operations and capitalize on emerging market opportunities.

Senior Director, Marketing
Ameritox, LLC
Baltimore, MD

I held an entrepreneurial position focused on building and leading a marketing team within a fast-growing, venture capital-backed, lab services company. I created and executed short- and long-term plans to increase monthly sample volume, expand distribution channels, and position the company for ongoing product innovation and growth. Working in concert with the clinical and sales teams, I aligned marketing and sales operations, creating sales materials, educational aids, and training programs. I led customer experience and patient engagement programs, creating ways to better serve our physician offices in their quest to set up or expand medication monitoring programs.

Vice President, Employer Solutions Marketing
Take Care Health Systems, a Walgreens Company
Nashville, TN

I was a key strategic player in the successful integration of CHD Meridian Healthcare and Whole Health Management, the two largest providers of employer-sponsored healthcare services, into Take Care Health Systems following their purchase by Walgreens. I led all business-to-business marketing, sales support, and patient acquisition and engagement activities, in support of this $450M business. I directed sales and marketing teams in support of all RFP creation, sales presentations, and sales materials and training. I worked with our clients, including Disney, Goodyear, BMW and others to grow site utlization and drive cost savings.

Vice President, Marketing Services
Wilmington Trust Company
Wilmington, DE

I was a division director with a publicly held, international financial services firm. I directed all integrated marketing communications strategies for three core business lines–Regional Banking, Wealth Advisory, and Corporate Client Services. I designed the reorganization of Wilmington Trust’s Marketing department into three divisions and was named Vice President and Division Manager for a new Marketing Services Division within four months of hire.

Manager, Advertising and Marketing Communications
Capital Blue Cross
Harriburg, PA

I led all activities within a $5 million advertising, marketing communications, marketing promotions, and health education budget. I directed all business-to-business and business-to-consumer advertising and communications including print, television, and radio advertising, collateral materials, specialty publications, newsletters, trade show programming, promotions, marketing sponsorships, and health education in support of the Blue Cross Blue Shield brand. An advertising campaign we created in 2001 won three Telly Awards, including best overall health care advertisement. The campaign also won best of show and multiple gold awards in the 2001 National Health Care Marketing Awards.
